Silk painting plein air "Silk fiesta"
Silk painting plein air "Silk fiesta" is an ongoing project that has been in existence since 2020. It was started to promote the diversity of creative expressions and the cooperation of professional creators, and the development of the professional art space in the region. The project is unique in that it is the only professional art event in Lithuania that exclusively promotes the field of silk painting. Although the history of silk leads to India and the Far East, in the 21st century this type of painting has spread all over the world, because painting on silk is a universal type of painting, which includes both visual (paintings, non-functional art objects, textile sculptures) and applied art (clothing, accessories, interior details) aspects. Silk painting is characterized by a wide variety of techniques. During the plein air, different techniques will be presented and silk painting experiences will be shared by 6 participants - professional painters: R. Burbulė (Druskininkai), E. Lipinskaitė (Marijampolė), L. Vaišnytė (Anykščiai), I. Batuža-Bertuža (Vilnius), L. Zavadskė (Vilnius), R. Astikaitė-Žiobakienė (Klaipėda). The community is invited to open creative workshops and art therapy sessions. The joint exhibition of the works of the plein air participants of the „Silk fiesta“ will be exhibited in the „Menų kalvė“, later presented in the cultural institutions of the Alytus region.
