"The 59th Summer of Piano Music" - a piano music festival fostering the tradition of sharing music created by the composer and artist M.K. Čiurlionis himself - invites you to return to the apple orchard again!

Like every year, from Midsummer until September, on Wednesday and Saturday of every week, the most famous Lithuanian pianists of all generations and guests from abroad will invite the audience to the apple orchard of the Čiurlionis House-Museum in Druskininkai and present their latest creative pursuits. One of them is the professor of the Royal Academy of Music, internationally acclaimed pianist WILLIAM FONG (JK)

WILLIAM FONG's international career began in 1984 when he won 1st place, the gold medal and the Rosa Sabater prize at the International Piano Competition in Jaen, Spain. Soon he made his debut in a concert with the Philharmonic Orchestra "St. John's Smith Square'. Later successfully appeared in Busoni, Cleveland, Iturbi and Scottish international competitions. Performances in New York, Moscow and St. Petersburg (under the auspices of the Sviatoslav Richter Foundation) and in Europe received critical acclaim and enthusiastic audiences. Supported by the Arts Council of England, the pianist was invited to China, gave concerts and conducted master classes in Shanghai. He has performed in Australia at the invitation of the Chair of the Australian Piano Pedagogy Conference and was a keynote speaker, recital and master class at the New Zealand Institute of Registered Music Teachers conference in Auckland. participates in international piano summer schools. The pianist is a versatile musician who has played with ensembles such as the Brodsky Quartet and the Guildhall Strings. He has also collaborated with singers Steve Davislim and James Rutherford, recording an interesting and little-known chamber music repertoire. His concerts were broadcast by European and American television and radio. The pianist performed in all the most important London halls. His concerts have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, Classic FM and BBC Television. He is a professor at the Royal Academy of Music and head of the piano department at the Purcell School for Young Musicians, a professor at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, artistic director of Piano Star Romania.
