Exhibition of the works of the international painters plein air "Šlavantas 2024".
On the shores of Lake Šlavantas, in the Lazdija district, in the Veisiei borough, an international open-air event is organized every year, named after the lake - Šlavantas. As every year, the residence, surrounded by nature, brings together famous artists not only from Lithuania, but also from distant lands. The plein air organizer artist Rita Rimšienė and the curator artist Antanas Obcarskas assembled an excellent international team, which this year includes a large number of well-known foreign names connecting two continents - Europe and Africa. This year, the participants of this convention, which is becoming a tradition, were artists Rita Rimšienė (Lithuania), Antanas Obcarskas (Lithuania), Mohamed Elmasry (Egypt), Sergey Grinevich (Belarus), Sana Mahfoudhi (Tunisia) and the chairman of the Helsinki Artists' Association Satu Kalliokuusi (Finland). This creative meeting gave a number of great creative discoveries, all of which will be exhibited in the exhibition.
The aim of the plein air participants is to reveal Lithuania as a country of high creative potential, to continue the traditions of plein air painting and to share creative ideas. During the plein air, the participants of the exhibition became observing and recording the motifs of the environment, the scattering of sunlight, delving into the variety of natural phenomena, lighting, colors, reflections and reflexes. By conveying the artist's vivid impression, mood and authentic, unique atmosphere of the environment, year, time of day, and space in their works. The exhibition presents painted panoramic and chamber landscapes of Lake Šlavantas, as well as abstract and figurative compositions.
For the seventh time, the works of the participants of the privately funded open-air painting exhibition "Šlavantas 2024" are presented at the National M. K. Čiurlionis Art Museum - V. K. Jonynas gallery in Druskininkai.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on August 7, at 4 p.m., during which all the artists who participated in the plein air will be guests in the gallery, who will present their work and its inspirations. The event will be held in Lithuanian and English. During the opening of the exhibition, visiting the exhibition is free, at other times the exhibition can be viewed with a gallery visitor's ticket.
