Greta Skaraitiene's photo exhibition "100 Portraits of Real People"
"The realest people are when they don't try to please anyone, don't try to play any role or fit into a certain image. Unstaged photography does not require preparation, make-up and hairstyle, and does not require posing. On the other hand, as soon as he notices that he is being followed by the eye of the camera, he is able to tense up in a fraction of a second, and his personality is hidden behind a grimace. Authentic moments are very short, fragile and rare, and I set out to capture even 100 of them - one for each year of Lithuania's century. I myself tried to remain as real as possible - serious and a little sullen and looking at many aspects of life with humor. I wanted to just live and do my work, as I have been doing every day for years, allowing the new idea to flow organically into the everyday. No arrangements and preparations - only what life itself will bring during the year. No separate platform - the portraits and their descriptions were simply interspersed among my other social network profile posts. I promised myself that I would click the camera button when my heart and not my mind told me to, so that I wouldn't start specifically looking for the right faces for the project. This project was a gift to myself, and the exhibition was a gift to you for following, waiting for new portraits, writing messages of support and not letting it stop. . Only thanks to you, the idea of the exhibition came about. I wouldn't have even dreamed of it alone" - Greta Skaraitienė presents her exhibition "100 Portraits of Real People" - agency "ŽMONĖS Foto" and a long-time photographer of "Žmonės" magazine.
