Virtual Reality Adventures Await at Druskininkai Water Park with Hexa Cinema

Visitors to the Druskininkai Water Park can look forward to even more entertainment. A new cinema space, "Hexa Cinema," is opening for the summer season, offering immersive virtual reality film screenings. The lineup includes three different VR experiences that have already captivated tens of thousands of viewers across Lithuania. The Hexa Cinema network operates in seven Lithuanian cities and is unique not only on a national but also on an international scale.

The Hexa Cinema venues feature three specially created Lithuanian virtual reality films. The first premiere is “I Am Lithuania” („Aš Lietuva“), directed by Donatas Ulvydas — an ode to the homeland. This 360-degree film showcases more than 30 of Lithuania’s most breathtaking locations. It features an emotional poem by writer Akvilė Kavaliauskaitė, narrated by actress Ilona Balsytė, and gives viewers a bird’s-eye perspective of places that are impossible to reach or see in real life.

The second virtual reality film is “Playing Life” („Žaisti Gyvenimą“) — a journey through twenty animated paintings by artist Algis Kriščiūnas. During the screening, you can hear a story written by the artist himself, voiced by well-known Lithuanian performers Mantas Jankavičius and Inga Jankauskaitė. The film has received international acclaim, having been part of the competition program at the prestigious Venice Film Festival, and earning the Golden Alexander award in Greece as well as a special jury mention at the animation festival in Morocco.

The latest VR experience is a family-friendly animated story called “Horse Dominykas’ Journey to the Stars” („Arklio Dominyko kelionė į žvaigždes“), featuring characters from Vytautas V. Landsbergis’ beloved books. During the screening, viewers join Horse Dominykas on a cosmic adventure, meeting inhabitants of various planets. The characters are voiced by well-known performers and actors including Mantas Stonkus, Gelminė Glemžaitė, Jessica Shy, and others.

The Hexa Cinema space in the Druskininkai Water Park will be open every day from 12 PM to 8 PM. Each screening lasts about 30 minutes, and the full schedule can be found on the cinema’s website. Visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets online or on-site. The film “I Am Lithuania” is available in English or Polish — just let the staff know upon arrival.
