"In Search of Caravaggio's Masterpieces" with Barbora Jurkevičius (Italy)

These days, Lithuania is in the grip of a Caravaggio craze—the Italian Baroque genius. Barbora Jurkevičius, a licensed tour guide from Rome, invites the residents of Druskininkai and visitors to the resort to a unique video tour. It is dedicated to an analysis of the life and work of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, with a special focus on his time in Rome. Guide Barbora will lead tour participants through the streets of the Eternal City—where the legendary Caravaggio once walked—with both images and commentary. The presentation takes the form of a structured narrative, accompanied by visual material, examining the artist’s most important works—which are currently preserved and on display in Rome—as well as their historical and artistic context.
