Japan Days in Druskininkai | Arigato, Čiurlionis
JAPAN DAY IN DRUSKININKAI | ARIGATO TO ČIURLIONIS
On 26 September, Lithuanian and Japanese music and art will come together in Druskininkai. Pianists Sonata and Rokas Zubovas will invite audiences to experience a dialogue between the works of M. K. Čiurlionis and Japanese composers.
The concert will open with a symbolic musical greeting from Druskininkai: Sonata and Rokas Zubovas will perform a four-hands piano adaptation of M. K. Čiurlionis’s symphonic poem In the Forest. The programme will continue with works by M. K. Čiurlionis and Japanese composers Seitaro Shibaka, Sawako Tamaru and Toyono Suzuki.
The musical programme will be complemented by a visual narrative featuring works by M. K. Čiurlionis and the renowned Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai, further expanding the space for cultural dialogue between Lithuania and Japan.
The Ambassador of Japan to Lithuania will attend the event and deliver a welcome address. The concert will be hosted by Milda Krasko, a representative of the Embassy of Japan.
