You are invited to a creative meeting with Gintautas Deksnys, the author of the book „Bookmarks speak“, owner of a unique bookmark collection, and recipient of the international Asim Maner Award (USA).

Collecting bookmarks is one thing—accumulating them by the hundreds and neatly placing them in drawers. Giving them new life and meaning is another. This process requires not only extensive reading but also deep cultural understanding. Having known the author of this publication for many years and witnessed his intellect and ability to delve into various cultural phenomena, I see great significance in this activity. I understand that this collection will only grow and become more profound.

Bookmark collecting has a charm of its own. Each marker represents a memory a feeling—something we revisit repeatedly yet perceive differently each time. Additionally, this pastime is full of surprises, reflections, and emotional experiences. The essence of collecting and organizing bookmarks lies in the act of sharing, exhibiting, exchanging, or simply talking about them. I personally prefer unconventional methods to accumulate knowledge, foster curiosity about the unreachable, the undiscovered, and the unknown.
