The V. K. Jonynas Gallery (9 Turistų St., Druskininkai) will welcome audiences and present the latest creative explorations of Lithuania’s most renowned pianists from all generations. One of them is pianist Andrius Vasiliauskas.

Andrius Vasiliauskas was born in 1954 in Vilnius into a family of musicians. In 1973, he graduated from the M. K. Čiurlionis Art School and later studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music. He began giving his first concerts while still a student; in 1982, he successfully participated in the 5th M. K. Čiurlionis Piano Competition, and in 1987, he won first prize at the H. Eller Competition in Tallinn.
The pianist is known as both a soloist and a chamber musician. His repertoire includes monumental cycles, monographic concerts, and works by Lithuanian composers. A. Vasiliauskas is the premiere performer of many Lithuanian piano and chamber works.
He has performed in Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Israel, and Poland. The Lithuanian Radio archives contain more than 200 of his recordings.
