AUDIOVISUAL PERFORMANCE “ČIURLIONIS’ DREAMS” | ADAS GECEVIČIUS (DRUMS, ELECTRONICS) and VYTAUTAS ŽARNAUSKAS (VISUALIZATIONS)

“Čiurlionis’ Dreams” is an audiovisual performance in which M. K. Čiurlionis’ paintings come to life through contemporary video projections and live music. Free jazz drums, electronics, and video mapping technologies create a mesmerizing experience in which nature becomes the stage and the trees of Druskininkai—a living canvas. It is an invitation to hear and see the world of M. K. Čiurlionis’s art in a new light.

Adas Gecevičius—a Druskininkai-born drummer, producer, and composer—blends improvisation, electronic music, and the energy of free jazz in his work. After creative journeys around the world, he returns to his hometown to present music created specifically for this project.

Vytautas Žarnauskas is a visual projection artist who creates audiovisual performances in which architecture and nature become surfaces for projections.

This is not the first time that the work of M. K. Čiurlionis has brought these artists together. In 2024, they came together for the performance “Feeling the Light in the Palms of Your Hands” in Plungė. Later, V. Žarnauskas, along with an international team of artists, presented the genius’s work at a video projection technology festival in France.

This year, the duo returns to the very place where M. K. Čiurlionis himself once drew inspiration.
