Čiurlionis and Chips vol. 2: saula.space.ENHANCED
Photography Exhibition by Saulius Černevičius “Saula.space. Enhanced”
Nature is the main source of inspiration for Saulius Černevičius. Since the artist lives in Žiogeliai, there’s no shortage of material for his creative work! You’ll often spot him peering out his cottage window, waiting for birds, or wandering through the nearby forests with the biggest lens in Dzūkija.
His photo hunts capture seemingly insignificant things: insects, blades of grass, little sparrows. But from these, Saulius creates entirely new worlds. He plays with colors, manipulates the images, enlarges and enhances them. The large-format works, printed using Giclée technique, shimmer in surreal, even fairytale-like colors.
Saulius doesn’t copy nature – he creates new realms inspired by it. His art reflects a Čiurlionis-like vision infused with the spirit of Dzūkija’s forests.
In 2025, Saulius won the “GAMTA LT” photography competition organized by the Druskininkai-based “Menų kalvė”.

This exhibition is part of the “Čiurlionis and Chips” event series, dedicated to celebrating the 150th anniversary of M. K. Čiurlionis.
